Thank you to Violet for writing found wanting, a zine that helped me process some of the thoughts in this essay, thank you Taylor McCue for inspiring me to write more honest works, and thank you always to Cecile Richard for writing THE EVIL ERA, a piece that's encouraged me to be more open with my art and less concerned about being cringe.

Thank you Naarm Frontline Medics for being there during a bad time, thank you Marina, Nef and Elissa Black for their constant companionship, thank you Tom for the coffee, and thank you Harry for telling me my hair looks nice even after I had to wash it with two bottles of dish soap. I think you're pretty cute yourself.

And thank you Elliot Herriman for agreeing to read this piece before anyone else did. Love ya girl.

this was absolutely incredible: The writing was just so touching and grieving and everything... It really resonated at the moment of life I’m at right now. Thanks so much for this amazing work!

i can't believe i'm somehow only just now seeing this. this is so beautiful, and so touching. i wanted to pick out some of my favorite lines that really resonated with me to highlight but i ended up copying and pasting so much that it was getting out of hand, so i'll just say - thank you for sharing this essay!

oh my gosh thank you so so much!!! found wanting means so much to me, it helped me think about a lot of things that had always been kinda haunting me but that i'd never been able to put words to before. so glad you liked i'll figure it out <3 <3 <3

"not wanting to be helped in turn is its own type of cowardice,
but it hurts to imagine myself as something so small"

That's where the blade got me.

Thank you for making this. And the birds are so cute.

This is so raw and personal, but also the comics are filled with such comedy in the contrast of the cute birds with the horrific injuries. Thank you for sharing this.

thank you so much!! <3
